Perth Scorchers finished group stage with large victory

Perth Scorchers has completed their group stage tour with a large victory earlier today. They have won over Hobart Hurricanes by seven wickets. Though this victory, Perth jumped to the top position on BBL 2016/17 point table and confirmed their position in next stage which is called semi final. They will be the one of four contender in that stage where excluding them Brisbane Heat also confirmed their position. Rest two places have yet to confirm. The last group stage match will be staged soon and through the match, rest places will be revealed.

However, Perth has taken over the victory against Hobart Hurricane and failed to win the match Hobart does not make it to the semi final. Hobart played eight matches in ongoing BBL tournament like all the participants but managed victory in three matches. So, they achieved only 6 points and placed 7th position on the point table and their tour has finished in this season of BBL.

Earlier today, the match between Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes was staged at Blundstone Arena which was the home venue of Hobart but they could not utilize the home ground facilities. The known field became unknown to them. Perth Scorchers let them to bat first by winning the toss. Hurricanes lost their first and major player Paine who was the skipper as well within 14 runs only. Since then, Hurricanes players failed to stand strong. Short who was the top hard hitter of the team scored highest 36 runs. Bailey, Christian were no better than him. They just made 134 runs by playing full 20 overs. Basically, Perth bowlers did their job very well.

134 runs was so mere in front of Perth batsmen. Though, they also lost one opener so early when the team score was just 12. Later, Klinger and Marsh took them to 94 when Klinger was out by scoring 29 runs. Within next five runs, Marsh was out as well. But, that was not affect Perth so much. They had couple of more batsmen in their squad. Voges and Turner took the team to victory. Perth chased the score by playing just 13.5 overs by losing three wickets. So, their group stage tour has finished very well.
