Perth Scorchers beat Adelaide Strikers at WACA

Two times BBL winner along with two times runner up Perth Scorchers started their new Big Bash League 2016/17 season with victory over Adelaide Strikers yesterday at WACA. They were also in semi final last season but did not make it to final in BBL. But, this time, they do not want to make any mistake and so, started the season very carefully. The match was hosted at their home ground and they got support from their fans around the stadium. That helped them to keep concentrate to the game and finally won their inaugural fight in BBL 2016/17 against Strikers.

However, Strikers won the toss but decided to bat in second position. So, came to bat at the first time, Perth Scorchers made 197 runs total in their innings by losing seven wickets. The score was big enough to give challenge and obviously Strikers was fallen under pressure and at last failed to do it. So, the match was won by Perth Scorchers by 48 runs so far.

Perth Scorchers lost their first wicket Klinger when their score was just 7. Later, they made a partnership which added more than fifty runs. They lost their second wicket at 64 runs and next wicket was in 121. Their top scorer Bell was out incidentally when he scored 61 from 42 balls. He was run out. He made six boundaries and two over boundaries. Their other middle order batsman Turner was remain not out with his brilliant 44 runs innings by just 19 balls. He made four over boundaries along with two boundaries. So, at the end of the twenty overs, they added total 197 runs to the scoreboard.

However, came to chase that score, Strikers lost three wickets when the teams runs was just 15. They lost their first three wickets so soon and becoming failure their top orders, middle orders tried to make a stand but without Hodge, there were no others can stand. Hodge scored highest 56 runs for the team. Later at the ending point, Richardson scored 45 runs by playing 25 balls and his innings was coloring with several boundaries and over boundaries. They made 149 runs at the end of the twenty overs by losing nine wickets. Johnson took three wickets where Willey and JA Richardson took two wickets each.
