Pakistan vs South Africa Highlights

Only bowlers gave something to cheer about vs SA

Pakistan’s tour of South Africa has been a disaster, before the teast series started Pakistan was expected to struggle in Test against mighty South Africa and quite frankly who wouldn’t struggle against them in their own backyard. But they way Pakistan performed with the bat in Test series it highlights the fact that Pakistan rely so much on their bowling attack. They are a decent side in test matches and can give any team a run for their money but when they win they win because of their bowling but more often that not their batting just can not backup their bowlers when it needed.

Batsman with Poor Technique and Temperament

We have to consider that they are missing out on test matches at home, but Pakistan have flat tracks and its hard to get a result on Pakistani pitches so it does not have a huge impact on their performance when they play in UAE or Sri Lankan neutral venues. Some of their best test batsman has been retired, with Inazamam and Yousif Youhana hang up their pads pakistan is left with only genuin world class batsman in Younis Khan who is into his late 30’s and he dont have that touch he use 3-4 years ago. Aprt from him if you look around the squad there is no one you consider who can score big or stay at the wicket for longer period of time. In terms of talent they are not short maybe because Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali are all good batsman but they need consistant run of games in order to get some experience.

Is this the end of the Road for Misbah ul Haq ?

Misbah’ul Haq has done a superb job since taking over as a test Captain, he don’t score big hundreds but he can spend time in the wicket but in South Africa he was not in good form and you can not blame him, he is 39 and probably should retire but Pakistan dont have anyone to replace him at the moment and he can go on for a year maybe.

What About state of limited overs cricket

Pakistan area solid One day and T20 team, they drew the 2 match T20 series and could have and should have won it, but lost the ODI series 3-2 in 5 matches. Pakistan has always struggled in South Africa in the past and this time they almost won the series if Younis Khan had taken that AB Deviliers catch in the 5th and last ODI. What Changes should be made in T20 or ODI teams ? have your say please comment below to share you thoughts.

Will Pakistan always be a inconsistent ODI team ?

What changes are needed for Pakistan to be more consistent ?

Pakistan beat England 3-0, a white washed at than the No 1 ranked test team in the world, they lost against South Africa like bunch of club cricketers it shows that there is huge inconsistency in players performance, why is it ? lack of professionalism ? probably yes.

In Test team they need a solid opening partnership, Muhammad Hafeez was exposed badly in the 6 innings he played in test matches could not get going. Nasir Jamshed well he was poor but it was his debut test series so deserve a chance, although his technique does seem to work in test matches. Umar Akmal has to be in the team, with Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq they need to take responsibility for the middle order they have the potential but need some experience and kick at the back side. and for the love of God stop giving chances to these tried and failed players again and again with the likes of Taufiq Omar, Imran Farhat or even Shoaib Malik.
