Pakistan won warm up match against Northamptonshire

Pakistan cricket team is currently travelling England and their travel purpose is to play a Test series against team England. The Test series consists of two matches. Ahead of the tournament, Team Pakistan also visited Ireland and there, team Pakistan played one long format match against Ireland. Ireland has got approval to play International Test in last June, 2017 and after that the match against Pakistan was their first official Test match. Though, in the match, Ireland faced defeat against the Shaheens. However, team Pakistan is now touring England and before making the official Test against England, the guest team played number of warm up matches. In the 2nd match, Pakistan won warm up match against Northamptonshire.

Pakistan won warm up match against Northamptonshire

The match against Northamptonshire consisted of four day and it took place in 4th May, 2018 at County Cricket Ground, Northampton. In the match, Northamptonshire won the toss and decided to bat first. So, guest team Pakistan came to bowl in 4th May, 2018 first.

Captain of the team Northamptonshire named Newton and Duckett started the match. Openers added 36 runs when Duckett was gone with 26 runs. Newton scored 35 runs so far. Levi and Rossington played a bit well where Rossington scored highest 90 runs for the team. Levi scored another 31 runs so far. Team Northamptonshire played 73.4 overs and lost all wickets and in the meantime, they scored 259 runs in their first innings. Shadab Khan took six wickets highest for Pakistan team.

Later, Pakistan came to bat for the first innings. Openers of the team failed totally. Haris and Asad played with responsibilities. Haris scored 79 runs and Asad scored 186 runs and remained not out. Babar Azam scored another 57 runs so far. Team Pakistan took lead in the first innings. They scored 428 runs by playing 116.3 overs. Keogh and Crook took four wickets each for the team Northamptonshire.

In the 2nd innings, Northamptonshire played well and scored 301 runs so far. Captain Newton made a century. He scored 118 runs so far. Rossington scored 42 runs and Cobb scored 52 runs more for the team. They played 95.5 overs in their 2nd innings. So, they did present a target in front of the guest team in the 2nd innings. Abbas and Shadab took four wickets each for Pakistan in the 2nd innings.

By losing 1 wickets Pakistan reached the target which was presented by Northamptonshire. They had to play 27 overs where Imam scored 59 runs highest for the team Pakistan.
