Pakistan won 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at Dubai

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in International schedule where both teams have faced already a Test series in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan unfortunately faced a defeat there and also being whitewashed in Test series. So, they are now in ODI series which consists of five matches. Yesterday, the first ODI between Pakistan and the Lions was staged where Pakistan won 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at Dubai. Pakistan was provided to bat first and in their innings, they scored 292 runs. Babar Azam made a century for the Shaheens where Shoaib Malik scored 82 runs. Based on their score Pakistan presented a reliable score in front of the Lions. In return, Sri Lanka finished their innings by scoring just 209 runs by losing 8 wickets.

So, through the victory, team Pakistan is now leading the ODI series by 1 – 0. The next ODI between them will take place in 16th October, 2017 at Abu Dhabi.

Since the beginning, team Pakistan was desperate to manage victory in the game. The main reason is they lost the Test series against the Lions and so to make an even, they must win ODI series. They are trying to whitewash the Lions in the series. However, the Lions are not so easy to get whitewashed. They are strong and now a most balanced team.

However, yesterday Pakistan started their innings not so good where their one opener was out so early with individual 0 runs. But, the rest players got runs in the match. Basically, Babar and Shoaib malik made more than 135 runs partnership which led them to a great total. Babar scored 103 runs in the match. Finally by losing just six wickets, the Green Army scored 292 runs. For the Lions, Lakmal took highest two wickets. Came to chase, Sri Lanka started to lose wickets in 30 runs. They lost top five wickets so early and no one can make any long partnership. With the seventh wickets partnership, they added almost 65 runs to the scorecard but by then it was too late to chase the target. Thirimanne scored highest 53 runs and Dananjaya remained unbeaten with his 50 runs innings. Finally, the finished their innings by scoring just 209 runs with two wickets left. So, they were lost by 83 runs so far. For team Pakistan Raees and Hasan Ali took three wickets each.

Shoaib Malik was announced as the player of the match due to his brilliant innings and economy balls. Now, they are looking forward to the second ODI and to secure the series, they need to win at least two more matches.
