Pakistan lost 2nd ODI at Nelson

Pakistan cricket team can not play any home tournament due to the political disaster and so, they used to take UAE venue as their home ground. But recently they are in schedule of away tournament which will be staged in New Zealand. So, team Pakistan is currently visiting there and they are scheduled to play a ODI and a T20I tournament against the local team New Zealand. Earlier they also played a warm up match there and now they have started the competition with ODI series. Already two ODI matches have finished successfully. In last match between them, Pakistan lost 2nd ODI at Nelson against New Zealand.

Pakistan lost 2nd ODI at Nelson

Pakistan also lost the first ODI against the Black Caps. But in 2nd ODI which was taken place in 9th January, 2018 at Saxton Oval, Nelson New Zealand won by 8 wickets by applying D/L method. Earlier at Nelson, team Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 246 runs by playing complete 50 overs. Mohammad Hafeez scored highest 60 runs for Pakistan. Later, came to chase New Zealand was given target of chasing 151 runs in 25 overs. They did it in 23.5 overs by losing two wickets. So, Pakistan lost by eight wickets in 2nd ODI. Now, the ODI series is led by New Zealand by 2 – 0. To secure the ODI series New Zealand need to manage just one victory against Pakistan and they have still three matches in hand. The 3rd ODI will take place in 13th January, 2018 at Dunedin.

Pakistan started to bat with Azhar Ali and Imam but in five runs Imam was gone who scored just 2 runs. Only nine runs later Azhar Ali was gone as well. Babar Azam was also no better but scored only ten runs. Among all top orders only Hafeez played a bit well who scored 60 runs highest for the team. Shadab Khan scored 52 runs and lower order Hasan Ali scored 51 runs so far. Rest players did not make any significant score. By losing nine wickets in fifty overs Pakistan scored 246 runs. Bowlers were quite impressive in that day. Ferguson took highest three wickets where Astle and Southee took two wickets for the team Black Caps.

On the other side, Guptill and Munro started to bat for New Zealand where in 1 run Munro was gone and in 47 runs captain Williamson was gone as well. Later, Guptill and Taylor finished the job very well. They played 23.5 overs and scored 151 runs by losing only two wickets.
