Pakistan finished 1st innings by scoring 262 runs

The second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has started in 6th October, 2017 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Sri Lanka won the toss and came to bat first. They scored 482 runs in their first innings by losing all wickets. In return, Pakistan finished 1st innings by scoring 262 runs. Now, they are more than 200 runs behind than the Lions. Sri Lanka has come to bat again for their second innings and as stated by the last news, they finished the 3rd day with 34 runs and already lost five wickets so far. Two Sri Lankan players named Lahiru Gamage and Sadeera Samarawickrama have made their Test debut with the match. Besides, the match is the first Day/Night Test of the Lions as well.

However, earlier, the Lankans came to bat by winning the toss. Openers Silva and Karunaratne started their innings but Silva stumbled first in his 27 runs but Karunaratne took the lead and moved ahead. He played and played. His companions were Silva, Mendis, Chandimal, Samarawickrama and Dickwella in the first innings. At the end, he got out with his 196 runs. He totally dominated Pak bowlers in his day. Unfortunately could not cross two hundred runs.Excluding him, total three players crossed fifty individually. So, based on their performances, the Lions presented a huge score in front of Pakistani players which was 482 runs. Yasir Shah took highest six wickets in the first innings and Mohammad Abbas took two wickets for Pakistan.

Pakistan came to chase the score in their first innings and their starting was well. Their opening partnership added 61 runs but suddenly Shan Masood was out by Gamage. He was bowled there with his 16 runs. Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali tried to add more to the scorecard but just four runs later, Sami got lbw by Perera. He scored 39 runs.

Asad Shafiq was no better in the innings as well as Babar Azam. Later, Azhar Ali made a partnership with Haris Sohail and both of them seen fifty each. Highest scorer was Azhar Ali with his 59 runs and Haris scored 56 runs for the team.

Sri Lankan bowlers were so good in that day and they made some destructive spell on the Pakistani batsmen. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed could not last long but scored just 14 runs. Rest players added just few more runs but no one can make any long innings. So, their first innings ended up with 262 runs.

Herath and Perera were quite successful and both took three wickets each. Lakmal and Gamage also took two wickets each for the Lions.
