Pakistan chasing 317 runs target at Dubai

The 2nd Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan has come to an ending stage. Sri Lanka presented a target in front of Pakistan by playing their second innings. Now, Pakistan chasing 317 runs target at Dubai.

At the beginning of second innings, team Pakistan was stumbled by the Lankans bowlers. In just five runs, they lost their first opener Sami Aslam. Azhar Ali was gone in 36 runs. Later, Haris  Sohail in 49 team runs. However, in just 52 team runs, Shan Masood and Babar Azam were gone. So, by scoring just 52 runs, the Green Army lost their five precious wickets. It has proved that the crease is turned to the bowling favoured. Perera is quite successful in the fourth day. He alone took three wickets out of five. Finally, two Pakistani batsman Asad Shafiq and captain Sarfraz Ahmed have stood strongly and finished the 4th day by losing no more wickets. At the end, team Pakistan has scored 198 runs and they have just five wickets in hand. To win, the Green Shirts needs to score 119 more runs with the remaining wickets. It seems Asad and Sarfraz are their prime hope now. Asad is standing with 86 runs and Sarfraz has scored 57 runs till the end of the 4th day.

The 2nd Test between them started in 6th October, 2017 at Dubai National Stadium where Sri Lanka won the toss and came to bat. Chandimal is the current Lankan skipper and took the right decision. The ground of Dubai favoured those who was in bat first. So, the Lions took the chance and started their innings well. But excluding Karunaratne, their top orders were not so successful but got just few runs. But Karunaratne scored his highest 196 runs for the team individually. Middle orders of the Lions were good and also too the responsibility. They made their first innings bigger so that team Pakistan faced trouble in second batting. With three more half centuries, Sri Lanka finished their 1st innings 482 runs. Except Yasir Shah, no bowlers could do better. Shah took six wickets and destroyed the Lions batting line but it was too late by then.

Team Pakistan came to bat in 1st innings but just two of them made half centuries. Rest players were almost flop. Azhar Ali scored 59 runs for the team highest and Haris scored 56 runs. Finally, they ended up their innings scoring 262 runs so far. Baut, Pakistani bowlers took revenge on the Lions and stopped Lanka’s second innings in just 96 runs.
