New Zealand secured ODI series against Windies

West Indian cricket team is current travelling New Zealand where according to the schedule, they are playing a complete dual series against Black Caps. The tournament consists of two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. The Test series has finished already where Black Caps destroyed Windies team. Now, they are in ODI schedule and first ODI was taken place in 20th December, 2017 where New Zealand won by five wickets. To win the ODI series Black Caps needed to win the 2nd ODI as well. 2nd ODI match was staged in 23rd December, 2017 where New Zealand secured ODI series against Windies by beating them. Black Caps won the match by 204 runs.

New Zealand secured ODI series against Windies

Basically, team New Zealand is in great form in recent times where Windies team is almost weaker. Besides, at the home ground New Zealand is very destructive and West Indies failed to show their best performance and as a result the expected things happened.

The 2nd ODI was staged at Hagley Oval, Christchurch where West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first. Came to bat, Black Caps did able to present a huge runs milestone in front of the Wondies team where the score was 325 runs. They did it by losing 6 wickets. Henry Nicholls scored highest 83 runs for New Zealand and also remained unbeaten. However, on the other hand, Windies team could not even make any competition out there but showing a disappointing performance. They got packet by scoring 121 runs in 28 overs.

In the match, Black Caps bowler Trent Boult became the 16th bowler who took 100 wickets in ODI. Besides, it was the biggest victory of New Zealand over West Indies.

Worker and Munro made almost good start though they added just 50 runs jointly when Munro was gone with 30 runs. Later Broom came but did not do much good score. He was out so early. In 3rd wicket partnership between Worker and Taylor, they added some more runs where Worker scored 58 runs and Taylor scored 57 runs. Later, Nicholls and Astle made another partnership which was their last long bond where Astle was out with 49 runs and Nicholls remained not out with 83 runs so far. Finally, in selected 50 overs, team New Zealand scored 325 runs by losing six wickets.

In return, Windies player failed to make any partnership but each of them scored so poor amount and finally their innings ended up with 121 runs in 28 overs. Boult took highest seven wickets for the Black Caps and rest three wickets were taken by Ferguson.
