However, In ODI and T20, New Zealand team is very balanced and considering the current ICC ranking, Black Caps are in top position in T20 World ranking. Though, in ODI, they are still 5th position where India is in top. In India it would be tough for the Black Caps to beat them. So, through the warm up matches, New Zealand team could match their environment and also get a proper knowledge about their ground nature. So, it seems very important to them.

Like Indian main team, this second XI is quite strong in batting no doubt. India has no batting problem since long and they have plenty of talented batsmen in their squad. Shaw and KL Rahul started Indian innings very good. Opening partnership added 147 runs which means, Black Caps could not break their opening partnership easily.

After losing first wickets KL Rahul in 68 runs, they lost another opener right after him at all. Shaw scored 66 runs  for the team. Nair came to bat after that and no doubt he is a great batsman. He played with the national team sometimes. He stood strong but at the end of the crease, they could not hold the grounds. Just first three players scored good number of runs but rest were failed totally. Pant scored 15 runs, Gurkeerat Singh scored 11 runs and Milind Kumar scored 10 runs and remained unbeaten till the last. For team Indian Board President’s XI the highest scorer is Nair who scored 78 runs in 64 balls. He made several shot in his innings.

Black Caps captain Williamson used total nine bowlers including himself to observe their performance. Boult took highest five wickets for the team and Santner took two wickets so far.

Their next warm up match will be staged in 19th October, 2017 and from 22nd October, the official ODI series will start.
