New Zealand lost 1st warm up match against IBPXI

New Zealand cricket team are now in International schedule and visiting India to play an away ODI and T20 I series against Men in Blues. The official tournament will start with the ODI series which consists of three matches. The first ODI match between them will kick off in 22nd OCtober, 2017. But to match the Indian weather, Black Caps team are also scheduled to play two warm up match which consists of fifty overs per match against Indian Board President’s XI. Among them 1st match was staged already where New Zealand lost 1st warm up match against IBPXI. Though, IBPXI was not the main eleven of team India where just couple of national team players participated but however, their batting line up was so strong to beat Black Caps. New Zealand could not take the match very seriously but defeat is a defeat after all.

New Zealand lost 1st warm up match against IBPXI

Yesterday at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai this two teams faced against each other where New Zealand won the toss and decided to field first. It was their practice match and so, Black Caps skipper Kane Williamson used total nine bowlers and he bowled himself as well. However, this IBPXI team was strong enough in batting and their openers scored 147 runs partnership but after that within four runs difference, both openers were gone. Later, Nair came up and took the team’s lead along with the team’s captain Iyer. Nair scored highest 78 runs for the team. At the end of the fifty overs, Black Caps bowlers could not take all wickets and the opponent scored 295 runs by losing nine wickets so far. Boult who was a Black Caps top bowler took highest five wickets for the team.

However, Black Caps came to bat with their top two openers Guptill and Munro. They made a good start but in just 24 runs, first breakthrough came up by IBPXI. In 2nd wicket partnership, they added more than 70 runs but Black Caps players could not last so long. Just a player named Latham scored a fifty highest and rest scored almost few runs. Most of the players of the team got runs but that was not enough. Williamson who is the captain of New Zealand team scored 47 runs so far. Finally, in 47.4 overs, Black Caps lost their all wickets by scoring 265 runs so far. So, they lost by 30 runs against IBPXI.

2nd warm up match between them will start in 19th October, 2017 at the same ground.
