New Zealand confirmed T20 squad against Proteas

New Zealand has arranged a home tournament consists of two teams named New Zealand and South Africa. In this purpose, South Africa has already reached there. They will play a complete series there which consists of T20, ODI and Test. The tournament will start with the only T20 match in next 17th February, 2017. However, they did not play any warm up match there though, they were scheduled to play a warm up match in 14th February, 2017. But, earlier yesterday, the match was abandoned due to heavy rain. So now, they are waiting for the main T20 competition.

However, New Zealand has regain their form nowadays and recently they consecutively won a couple of series. They played last ODI series against Australia and won by 2 – 0 and earlier that they whitewashed Bangladesh in all formats. In all cases, they were the host nation. So, it is proved that in their home ground, it would be tough even for number one team Proteas to defeat them. So, the match would be contesting.

On the other side, Proteas are also in great form. After two years they have reclaim the ODI top position and now, trying to hold the position. They recently whitewashed the Lions in ODI series by 5 – 0. However, they could lose their top ranking position if they fail to win the ODI series against Black Caps. They need to win at least three matches out of five ODIs.

Besides, the statistics between South Africa and New Zealand favours to the Proteas. The two teams faced total 65 times in ODI competition where New Zealand won 22 matches and lost 38. They played first time in 1992.

New Zealand team is currently lead by a right handed batsman Kane Williamson and Tim Southee is the vice captain. Besides, there team combination is too well. New Zealand cricket board has confirmed their T20 squad for upcoming match against Proteas where Kane will lead the team. Here we present below their complete squad for T20 competition below.
