Afghanistan is one of the ten competitors which are currently taking part in the ongoing Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018. The main reason behind it is they failed to qualify for the main event of ICC World Cup 2019 directly. They are not among the top eight considering ICC ODI ranking and as a result they have to take part in the qualification round. Afghanistan is currently standing on the 10th position on ICC ODI ranking and already top eight teams have qualified for the main event of World Cup 2018. Afghanistan is one of them which are trying to get the ticket of it. So, considering the qualifying round schedule, they faced Nepal yesterday where Nepal faced defeat by 6 wickets against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is in group B where the ten teams are divided into two groups. Each group contains five teams. So, the rest teammates are Nepal, Scotland, Hong Kong and Zimbabwe. Top three teams will qualify for super six round. Now, Afghanistan played total four matches and there is no match left. But their performance is so disappointing. They managed only one victory. Rest three matches were lost. So, they have only a poor chance to qualify for the next round.

On the other hand, Nepal is not in any rank of ICC and so, they have nothing to lose. They have played three matches in the qualifier round already but gain no victory. Against the match of Afghanistan, they were defeated quaite easily. They have one match in hand which will be against Hong Kong.

The match between Afghanistan and Nepal was executed in 10th March, 2018 at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo. Earlier the match at the toss, Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first. So, they came to bat and basically they did not want to bat under pressure and chasing could be more tough for the new team Nepal.

So, came to bat against Afghan, Nepal did not present handsome total but though they played 49.5 overs and lost all wickets. They scored 194 runs totally. Paras Khadka scored highest 75 runs in 82 ball for Nepal. Mohammad Nabi took four wickets for Afghanistan in the match.

Later, Afghan team came to chase 194 runs at Bulawayo and by losing four wickets, Afghanistan reached the target. They scored 195 runs in 38.4 balls. Najibullah Zadran scored highest 52 runs undefeated for Afghanistan. By winning the match, Afghanistan yet to confirm their ticket but wait till the last match to get the good news.
