India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni is a sharp-witted speaker. No wonder, the media has invariably had a taste of it. This time was no different, as the skipper dodged the questions on his retirement plans successfully.

Dhoni, who has already retired from Test cricket, said that he’s not thinking anything about the future as he accentuated the importance of the forthcoming Australia tour, where Team India are scheduled to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is against the hosts.

“I have always believed in the present. No answers on future. For now, it’s the Australia tour,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by NDTV.

“I have not thought beyond the World Twenty20 (in India). All energy and resources need to go in one direction; these will be an important three and half months for us,” he added.

The 34-year-old Dhoni further asserted that now that he has called a time on his Test career, he gets more time to get in shape for the shorter formats of the game.

“Now that I don’t play Test cricket, I have more time to switch on and off. The break gives me time to be off cricket and get back in groove.”
