Pakistan Test captain backed his country to get the better of arch-rivals India when the neighboring nations lock horns in a Group ‘B’ match at the ongoing World T20 in Kolkata come Saturday.

While Pakistan have been struggling of late, India have been in spectacular form, winning nine of their last 10 matches including a win over Pakistan at the recently-concluded Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

However, Misbah believes that the past outcomes will not have an effect on the future games, and that the Pakistani players are competent enough to beat any team on a given day.

“The way they are playing at the moment having just won the Asia Cup, they look like a difficult side to beat,” Misbah opined on India’s purple patch, as quoted by Gulf News.

“But with Pakistan everyone believes we’ve got potential and on any given day we can surprise anyone. This is a dangerous factor for other teams this World Cup,” he continued.

Further making his point on the intense on-field rivalry between the two countries, the 41-year-old added that both teams will be trying their best to not concede a loss against each other.

“You can lose every game but you can’t lose against India, and it’s the same thing for them. That’s how big a match it is,” he stated.
