When we think about Cricket then China never comes in mind. Nor does Cricket plays any highlights when we think of China. Although the country has some investment in Cricket, neither are they known for it nor they have managed to advance it further. The level of their cricket players isn’t that good either. Thus, it’s quite unexpected that one of their players would even make to a premier league of another country.

Ming Li

Big Bash is one of the world’s top leagues if not the top league. Only few players outside of Australia have and the pleasure of playing here and only the top class players can come here. There are many ODI playing countries who doesn’t have any players playing in Big Bash. Thus its value can easily be described.

However, for the first time ever, a Chinese player made it in to the Big Bash and that player is Ming Li.

Li is been playing for quite a few years and he started out his journey after watching his idol Shane Warne in action. He followed that lead to become a right hand leg spinner and made his debut as a player in 2010 for Hong Kong. After that he made a lot of improvements and managed to catch the eye of Sydney Sixers. They have bought him for better observation and is keeping him with their teams to see if he can improve even further.

On a press interview he said that he is grateful to Hong Kong Cricket Association and Sidney Sixers. He is very happy to get a chance at a big stage and one of the biggest clubs of Big Bash.

He also added that, playing here and to be able to be involved with such high level players will surely improve his skills and he will be able to contribute even more to this field.

Sydney Sixers manager Remond said that Li is an upcoming player with a lot of talent and its their pleasure to work with Hong Kong cricket association to help in Li’s development even further.

Although it may seem as a small step but its proof that China, Hong Kong and other Asian nations have started to improve their cricket and they are doing really well.
