Melbourne Stars were defeated by 15 runs

Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat are the two top contenders in ongoing season of Big Bash League. Heat won the second season of BBl where Stars played final once. So, both franchise teams have the experiences to play final. This two giant teams have faced already against each other in 7th season of BBL. The 2nd match was staged between them where Melbourne Stars were defeated by 15 runs against Brisbane Heat.

Melbourne Stars were defeated by 15 runs

It was the 2nd match of the season of BBL which was staged at the Gabba, Brisbane. In the match, Brisbane Heat lost the toss and came to bat first. They did able to present a big score in front of the Stars. They scored 206 runs which was nearly impossible to chase even for Melbourne Stars. Melbourne Stars had the most strong team squad which were almost batting and bowling specialists. Stars also played well in the match but basically target score was so big. Melbourne Stars finished their innings with 191 runs. They lost six wickets so far.

McCullum is the current captain of Brisbane heat. He opened the innings with Peirson. Peirson scored just 1 run and back to the pavillion. McCullum played well who scored 40 runs in 22 balls. Burns and Ross also played very well and both of the did score half century each. So, based on the top orders good performance, Heat scored 206 runs and the milestone was so big. They lost total seven wickets. Ben Cutting scored 35 runs in 18 balls so far. Stoinis took three wickets where Beer took two wickets for Stars.

Came to chase 206 runs milestone, Melbourne Stars lost their opener Dunk in 0 runs. Later, Luke Wright scored just 19 runs and Kevin Pietersen scored 10 runs so far. Maxwell also failed to amaze the audience who scored just 8 runs. Top four wickets were gone in 53 runs. Later, Stoinis and Faulkner made a destructive partnership that added almost 140 runs to the scoreboard. Stoinis scored highest 99 runs and unfortunately did not get his precious century. And Faulkner scored 47 runs who remained unbeaten till the last. But they did not get the important victory over Brisbane. Melbourne Stars lost six wickets and scored 191 runs. So, they lost by 15 runs. Shadab Khan took two wickets highest for Brisbane Heat. Though, Brisbane heat won the match but player of the match awards went to Marcus Stoinis of Stars for his brilliant batting and bowling spells.
