The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced that three legendary cricketers – Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – have been roped in to the Advisory Committee with immediate effect.

The trio’s primary job would be counsel the BCCI on a variety of developing steps that could serve as a long-term beneficiary to the Indian cricket team as a whole.

The speculations had been rife since the last few days concerning the involvement of the threesome, before an official release from the BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya confirmed the news.

“I am happy to note that our eminent cricketers have come forward to lend their experience and insights as we work towards a common goal of taking Indian Cricket to greater heights,” Mr. Dalmiya was quoted as saying by the official BCCI website.

Even BCCI secretary, Anurag Thakur, also corroborated the news and congratulated the trio on being taken aboard by the governing body of Indian cricket.
