Lahore Blues is one of the top rated franchise team in National T20 Cup which is also one of the most successful team in the competition as well. They have qualified as one of the four participants for knockout phase in the ongoing season of National T20 Cup and they were scheduled to play against Federally Administered Tribal Areas which is also known as FATA in 2nd semi final of the competition. Their competition was staged in 29th November, 2017 where Lahore Blues won by 10 runs over FATA.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was the host ground of the match between Lahore Blues and FATA and the field umpires of the match were Mohammad Sajid and Shozab Raza. Federally Administered Tribal Areas or FATA won the toss and decided to bowl first. Lahore Blues was given bat an scored 221 runs by losing just 1 wicket in 20 overs. The score was huge to chase but FATA tried their best and ended up with 211 runs in 20 overs. They lost eight wickets so far. FOr Lahore Blues Ahmed Shehzad scored 104 runs in 59 balls. On the other hand, Khushdil Shah scored 56 runs for FATA. So, by beating FATA, Lahore Blues were qualified for the final of National T20 Cup.

It was a day/ night competition where toss winning team used to get advantage. But in that case came to bat, Lahore Blues made a dashing opening with Ahmed Shehzad and Imam ul Haq. Openers added 145 runs huge partnership which led the team Blues to a good total. In 145 runs Imam was gone with 62 runs. He scored that by facing 42 balls. Later, skipper Mohammad Hafeez came and joined with the opener Ahmed Shehzad. Both of them finished the match successfully. They basically dominated the FATA bowlers. Shehzad made a fantastic century. He scored 104 runs in 59 balls. On the other hand, captain Hafeez scored 52 runs in just 19 balls. They made plenty of big shots there. So, in selected 20 overs Lahore Blues scored 221 runs and through that they almost secured the title it seemed that. FATA bowlers did not do well but just Mohammad Irfan took one wicket by bowling four overs.

On the other hand, FATA desperate to chase the score. Their two openers Mukhtar Ahmed and Awais Zia started very good and added 67 runs in their opening partnership. Most of the players got runs and made number of big shots. But the targeted score was so big to chase and they needed to make many big shots out there. They went too close but finally ended up with 211 runs. They lost eight wickets in 20 overs. Cheema, Salman and Hussain Talat took two wickets each for the Blues.
