Kings XI Punjab is moving towards the IPL title with great speed. They have played total five matches in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League where they won four matches so far. As a result they are standing on the 2nd position on IPL point table this season. In their last match, Kings XI Punjab faced Kolkata Knight Riders. The match was interrupted by rain. So, umpires applied the D/L method there. In the match, Kolkata Knight Riders faced defeat at home venue against Kings XI Punjab.

Now, if we consider the Kolkata Knight Riders statistics in the season of IPL, they started the season with victory. Sometimes they grabbed the 2nd position on the point table. But they faced defeat total 50 percent matches out of total played. Till their last match, they played total six matches in the season where managed victory three times so far. So, KKR is in 3rd position on the point table right now.

Generally we all know that by playing at the home venue, every team used to play with full confidence along with ground support and so, they undoubtedly regarded as the favourite team. But in the last match, KKR faced KXIP at the home venue of Kolkata Knight Riders named Eden Gardens. But KKR failed to win the match. Basically they have only few lacking here. The major reason behind it was the rain. Due to rain, KXIP did not have to play complete over but all in a sudden they were announced the the winning team.

The match between KKR and KXIP was the 18th match of the tournament. In the match which was staged at Kolkata in 21st April, 2018 Kings XI Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first. So, they were the lucky team as well.

Lynn and Narine opened the innings for KKR in the match where narine got out scoring 1 run only. Uthappa and Lynn played well where Lynn scored 74 runs highest. He played destructively in the innings. He faced 41 balls and made the score. Uthappa scored 34 runs and captain Karthik scored 43 runs so far. So, at the end of 20 overs KKR scored 191 runs by losing seven wickets. Tye and Sran took two wickets for the team KXIP.

So, came to chase the score, KXIP scored 126 runs in 11.1 overs by losing only 1 wicket. Chris Gayle cored 62 runs and remained not out. So, considering D/L method KXIP was announced as the winner by nine wickets.
