KL Rahul Ruled Out of India’s One-off Test against Bangladesh

Indian batsman KL Rahul has been reportedly ruled out of the one-off Test match against Bangladesh due to dengue fever. The two teams are scheduled to lock horns from June 10-14 in Fatullah, before turning up for a 3-match One-Day International (ODI) series.

23-year-old Rahul, who was handed the Test cap after spearheading his state Karnataka’s glorious challenge at the Ranji Trophy 2014, got off to an appalling international start. However, a clinical century in just the second outing of his career against Australia ensured his place in the side for the Bangladesh tour.

With regular openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan already in the 15-man squad, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) didn’t feel the urge of replacing a reserve opener for the solitary Test match.

India’s Test Squad: Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Ishant Sharma.
