KL Rahul failed to save Kings XI Punjab

Defending champion Mumbai Indians has returned to their very known form. They have become one of the top four player which are holding the 4th position on IPL point table now. They are yet to get qualified for the next playoff round but they would be. They have played 13 matches in the season of IPL already which were in group stage. They have managed six victories already. They have still one group stage match to go and if they will win the match, then they could get chance yo jump to the playoff level. In their last meeting in group stage which was against Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians got victory. KXIP had pretty talented players in the squad currently where KL Rahul was one of the top rated player. But, KL Rahul failed to save Kings XI Punjab against Mumbai Indians though he played well. He alone could not bring glory to his team.

Kings XI Punjab is overall a good team but though they did not win any IPL title yet. In the ongoing season, they have no chance to move to the next round it seems. They are in 7th position and only one match of the team in hand. Two teams Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings have qualified for the next round already and among rest six teams top two teams will get chance. KXIP would no be one of the lucky team perhaps.

The match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab took place in 16th May, 2018 at the home venue of Mumbai Indians named Wankhede Stadium. It was their 2nd meeting in IPL 2018. In the 50th match of the tournament, Mumbai Indians faced defeat in the toss and came to bat first. In their first head to head fight, Mumbai Indians won the first time. So, this time against same KXIP, it was the 2nd victory of MI.

Mumbai Indian played full 20 overs where five players touched two figure runs. They lost total eight wickets where Yadav scored 27 runs, Ishan scored 20 runs, Pandya scored 32 runs, Pollard scored highest 50 runs and so on. At the end of 20 overs Mumbai Indians scored total 186 runs so far.

Kings XI Punjab failed to chase the score though KL Rahul played brilliantly. He scored highest 94 runs so far. Finch also played well and scored 46 runs. In 20 overs team KXIP went too close but faced defeat for 3 runs only.
