Kiwi Pacer Mitchell McClenaghan Ruled Out of India ODIs

New Zealand will miss the services of Mitchell McClenaghan during the upcoming five-match ODI series against India after the speedster sustained a pelvis injury.

This comes as the second major blow for the visiting team as another kiwi fast-bowler Adam Milne is also set to miss the series to continue his recovery from an elbow surgery.

Being a regular for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL), McClenaghan has a rich experience of playing in the sub-continental conditions. His absence, therefore, will only make things worse for New Zealand.

The 30-year-old hasn’t played an ODI since taking a brutal blow on to his face while batting against Pakistan in Wellington earlier this year. According to, Ben Wheeler is likely to be named as McClenaghan’s replacement in the squad.

The ODI series is scheduled to be held from October 16-29, and follows the three-match Test series that gets underway on September 22.
