Karachi Kings made 2nd victory in PSL 2

Karachi Kings finally made things possible by achieving 2nd consecutive victory in Pakistan Super League and this time their opponent was another biggest contender of the title Peshawar Zalmi. In last match, they defeated the defending champion Islamabad United by D/L method but in next match against Zalmi, they got direct victory. However, through the match, they achieved two victories by playing total five matches in this tournament. This is the second time for the both teams two play against each other in ongoing edition of PSL where in the first time, Zalmi almost destroyed them in the 3rd match of the tournament where Zalmi got victory by seven wickets. So, this could be a perfect revenge for Kings to defeat them in 2nd leg. The match was the 13th match of the tournament where Karachi batted first and presented 174 runs target to Zalmi. In return, Zalmi got packet in 19.5 overs by scoring 165 runs. So, Karachi Kings won by nine runs so far.

Peshawar Zalmi was in bad luck where in last match against Quetta finished with no result due to bad weather and faced consecutive defeat in last two matches. So, they have fallen a little behind than other. However, earlier the match, Zalmi won the toss and came to ball. Their bowlers could not utilize their spell and so, Kings openers added 72 runs in 8.5 overs by when Babar Azam was out by Shakib Al Hasan. Gayle was flop again in the match but Sangakkara and Shoaib Malik took the lead where Malik scored highest 51 runs for the team. Basically, all players of Karachi Kings those who batted in the match scored at least a minimum runs and so, finally, their innings end up in 174 runs by losing four wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed took highest two wickets for Zalmi.

Came to chase, Peshawar Zalmi started to lose their wickets in 32 runs and within next two runs, they lost total three major wickets.Later in 43 runs, another wickets was fallen. After six wickets, Sammy and Shahid Afridi took the responsibilities and started to play too carefully. Afridi played a heavy innings who scored 54 runs in 28 balls which was the highest for Zalmi in the innings. He colored his innings with five 6’s and three 4’s. His best partner Sammy scored 34 runs. But, their partnership could not save the match but faced an unexpected defeat. They will play their next match against Lahore Qalandars in 24th February, 2017.
