Karachi Kings faced 1st defeat in PSL

Karachi Kings is a franchise team in Pakistan Super League and since the beginning of the season of PSL, they are in great form. Though, earlier they could not do better in the tournament but it seems that the current season, they would be the winner. They won first three matches consecutively and 4th match ended with no result. So, the points were divided between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings. But in the 5th match they stumbled for the first time. Karachi Kings faced 1st defeat in PSL 2018 where their opponent was Islamabad United.

Earlier of the 5th match, they were in top position on the PSL point table but after their defeat in the match, they lost the first position and demoted to the 2nd position on the point table.

Here comes the statistics of Islamabad United. The team Islamabad United won Pakistan SUper league title once in 2016 and so, they can be declared as one of the most successful team in the competition. But their journey in the tournament this season was not so good. They started with defeat in the ongoing season of PSL 3 but now, they are standing on the 4th position on the point table. They also won three matches like the Karachi Kings but lost rest two.

However, the last match between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United was the 15th match of the tournament in the season and the match was hosted at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah and in 4th March, 2018 the game was hosted.

Earlier the game Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field first. So, Karachi Kings came to the bat and they had strong batting line up and so, they successfully played complete 20 overs and scored 153 runs. By losing six wickets they made the score. Babar Azam scored highest 55 runs for Karachi Kings. On the other hand, Faheem Ashraf took three wickets for United.

Islamabad United came to chase the run later and they made a good start. By losing only two wickets United made the chase successful. Luke Ronchi scored highest 71 runs in only 37 balls. Islamabad United had to play only 17.2 overs. So, they had enough balls to chase and finally they did it.

Duminy and Ronchi made a good start for United. Openers added 104 runs where Ronchi scored 71 runs and Duminy remain unbeaten with 43 runs. Later, Hussain Talat came uo but did not stand long enough. He scored 8 runs. Asif Ali and Duminy left the field with victory.
