Islamabad lost against Lahore Blues by 5 wickets

Islamabad and Lahore Blues are the two most important participants in National T20 Cup which is a domestic league cricket competition in Pakistan. Sometimes, their participants reached 18 but in ongoing season of the tournament which is 14th episode of it, total eight teams are competing for the league cup. The competition has started in November, 2017 and already number of matches were staged. In 24th match of the tournament, Islamabad lost against Lahore Blues by 5 wickets. Lahore Blues won some matches consecutively but Islamabad faced consecutive two defeat in the tournament. As usual the match between them was hosted at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 22nd November, 2017 where Islamabad won the toss and elected to bat first. In their innings, Islamabad scored 174 runs by losing just three wickets in selected 20 overs but in return, Lahore Blues reached the destination target in 18.4 overs. They lost five wickets to do that and managed another victory in National T20 Cup.

Islamabad possessed number of talented players in their squad where Shan Masood and Nauman Anwar started the innings for the team. Shan Masood remained unbeaten till the last and scored a brilliant century. He scored 103 runs in just 68 balls. At the end of the crease, Rohail Nazir also tried to give him company and scored 33 runs. They lost three wickets totally and partnership between opener Shan Masood and Faizan Riaz finished the match. Faizan scored 19 runs so far. Finally they scored 174 runs in 20 overs. Bowlers did not present their job well but Khalid Usman took highest two wickets for Lahore Blues.

With Imam ul Haq and Ahmed Shehzad, Lahore Blues made their innings opening hard and added 47 runs with their opening partnership. Imam could not last long but got out with just 16 runs so far. But Shehzad played well and made partnership with Hussain Talat and captain Mohammad Hafeez. He was out by scoring highest 79 runs in 47 balls. Another batsman Hussain Talat was got run out unfortunately and scored 41 runs. They played aggressively and in 18.4 overs Lahore Blues scored 177 runs by losing five wickets. So, they got an important victory. Islamabad used six bowlers to stop them but could not succeed. Mohammad Irfan, Umar Gul, Raza Hasan and Arsal Sheikh took one wicket each. Shan Masood was announced as the player of the match from defeated team for his amazing century.
