ICC World Cup 2015: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announced a 15-member squad for the World Cup 2015 that is scheduled to be held across February-March in Australia and New Zealand.

Alastair Cook has been sacked as the captain and Eoin Morgan is slated to lead the English side. Some other notable names that failed to make the cut are all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast-bowler Harry Gurney.

“We have had to make some difficult decisions to get to our final squad but firmly believe that the 15 players selected offer the very best chance of success at the World Cup,” said national selector James Whitaker, as quoted by ecb.co.uk.

As a preparatory tour so as to get acclimatized to the Australian conditions ahead of the World Cup, this England squad will travel Down Under to participate in a triangular series against Australia and India.

SQUAD: Eoin Morgan (C), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Gary Ballance, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler (WK), Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Chris Jordan, Joe Root, James Taylor, James Tredwell and Chris Woakes.
