South Africa speedster Dale Steyn divulged that he has added a couple of new tricks to his bowling arsenal. Having warmed the bench for most of the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season, the 32-year-old let it drop that he refined his armory sitting in the sidelines.

“I’ve played nine years of IPL so I’ve seen it all,” Steyn told Glamorgan Cricket. “Unfortunately this year I had to sit on the sidelines, but that was okay as it gives you a different perspective,” added the ‘Phalaborwa Express’, who played just a solitary match at the recently-concluded IPL season.

Talking about the preparation that he underwent during the process, he said: “I got a lot of training done, which means I’ve got a couple of new tricks in the arsenal. So it was a different kind of IPL for me but now I’m ready to go. I’ve been bowling fast, my body’s feeling good.”

Having been rested from upcoming triangular series involving hosts West Indies and Australia besides his country, Steyn is scheduled to represent Glamorgan at the NatWest T20 blast. He makes his debut against Essex at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on May 1.
