Hurricanes won by 6 wickets

Hobart Hurricanes is one of the eight participant in Australian Big Bash League competition which used to compete here in every season. In the ongoing season of Big Bash, their appearances were not so impressive at the first time. But day by day, they are getting stronger and started to show their amazing performance. As a result, they beat Brisbane Heat twice times in this season. Now, in their last match which was against Brisbane heat, Hurricanes won by 6 wickets.

Hurricanes won by 6 wickets

It was the first match of round eight in the season of Big Bash and the match was taken place in 15th January, 2018 at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. It was the 29th match of the tournament where Brisbane Heat won the toss and came to bat first. So, by coming to bat, Brisbane Heat scored 165 runs by losing eight wickets where Brendon McCullum scored highest 51 runs for the team. However, they were about to win the match but Hobart Hurricanes made things possible by chasing the score. They successfully chased it in 18.2 overs. D’Arcy Short scored 59 runs highest for the team Hurricanes.

Though the match, Hobart Hurricanes played total eight matches and managed five victories where Brisbane Heat played the same number of matches but won only four times so far. So, they are far behind than Hurricanes considering points.

Brisbane Heat started to bat with Heazlett and McCullum where McCullum was the skipper of the team. Like before, their opening partnership did not work out and in 6 runs opener Heazlett was gone by scoring individual 5 runs. Later, in 2nd wicket partnership between McCullum and Burns, they added 60 runs almost to the scoreboard where Burns scored 38 runs and McCullum scored 51 runs for the team. Al Ross did not add much runs but scored only four runs. Ben Cutting played a bit well and scored 30 runs where Peirson scored 16 runs so far. Finally in 20 overs, Heat lost eight wickets and presented 165 runs target in front of Hurricanes. They thought to manage a victory but under estimate Hurricanes back then.

Doolan and Short started the innings for Hurricanes but in 10 runs Doolan was gone. Short and captain Bailey played a bit well and added almosr 73 runs partnership. In the meantime, Short scored 59 runs and Bailey scored only 19 runs so far. With their good partnership, they led the team to an easy victory. At last, Christian and McDermott did the rest work for the team.
