Hobart Hurricanes won by 3 runs

Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat both are top rated franchise teams in Big Bash League competition where in the ongoing season including their last match, Heat played seven matches totally and Hurricanes played six matches so far. By winning four matches each of them, Heat is placed 4th position where Hurricanes is placed 5th position on the point table now. This was the very first time in the ongoing season of BBL that Hobart Hurricanes faced Brisbane Heat in 10th January, 2018. It was the 24th number of matches where Hobart Hurricanes won by 3 runs against Brisbane Heat.

It was also the last match of round six which was hosted at the Gabba, Brisbane. Brisbane Heat was about to win the match but finally Hurricanes made things possible. They took control of the match but they had to play complete 20 overs to claim the victory. It was Hobart Hurricanes which team won the toss and decided to bat first. At the beginning, they scored 179 runs by losing only four wickets. D’Arcy Short made a wonderful victory out there who scored 122 runs and remained not out. On the other hand, Heat lost eight wickets and finished their innings scoring 176 runs. So, they were lost by just 3 runs so far. Sam Heazlett scored highest 45 runs for Brisbane Heat.

Considering the schedule of ongoing season of Big Bash League, this two giant teams will face against each other one more time in the season and perhaps, Brisbane Heat will take their revenge in next.

Hobart Hurricanes came to bat by winning the toss. Doolan and Short started their innings but in 14 runs, opener Doolan was gone by scoring 9 runs so far. But it was Short who played destructively and almost played alone. His partner Wade did not need to score much but Short made plenty of big shot. He colored his century by making eight 4’s and eight 6’s. Rest players just added few more runs. Wade scored 16 runs, McDermott scored 19 runs and captain Bailey scored only four runs so far. Finally, in selected 20 overs Hobart Hurricanes did able to present huge runs milestone in front of Heat. They scored 179 runs so far. Short almost dominated all bowlers gradually.

The opening partnership of Heat was also good and hopeful. Heazlett and McCullum made 64 runs partnership at the beginning but rest players did not do their job properly. Heazlett scored 45 runs highest where McCullum scored 33 runs. Peirson was also in the crease with not out. He scored 26 runs so far.
