Hobart Hurricanes tested first victory in BBL

Hobart Hurricanes has already played three matches in the ongoing episode of Big Bash League competition and finally luck favoured them. They managed a victory in their last match. So, it has been called that Hobart Hurricanes tested first victory in BBL 2017/18. The match was hosted against Sydney Thunder.

Sydney Thunder has already played five matches in the season but got twice victories here. It was the first match of round four which was taken place in 1st January, 2018 and Spotless Stadium hosted the match.

Earlier Sydney Thunder won the toss and decided to bowl first though since couple of matches, first bat proved better but as usual Thunder decided to field instead of bat. So, came to bat Hobart Hurricanes presented a huge runs milestone in front of Thunder. They scored 189 runs by losing only three wickets. Short scored highest 97 runs for the team Hurricanes. Later, Thunder came to chase the score and went close to the destination but 20 overs were finished and they ended up their innings with 180 runs by losing eight wickets.

Gerard Abood and Phillip Gillespie were the two field umpires of the match and at the end of the game, D’Arcy Short from Hobart Hurricanes was announced as the player of the match.

After losing first two matches, Hobart Hurricanes was desperate to do something better. They started to bat with Doolan dn Short but in 26 runs, opening partnership was gone. Doolan was out with 5 runs and Sandhu took the wicket. Later, Wade came up and made a partnership with Short. He was gone with 27 runs. Finally, McDermott came and joined with Short and both of them added more than 100 runs to the scorecard. Short was gone with 97 runs innings by facing 63 balls. He made several 4’s and 6’s. McDermott remained not out with 49 runs. Bowlers of Thunder was expensive in that day where three bowlers took one wicket each. So, Hurricanes finished their innings by scoring 189 runs so far.

On the other hand, Sydney Thunder also made a good start with Patterson and Buttler. Openers added 69 runs to the scoreboard. Patterson was gone with 36 runs and Buttler scored 81 runs so far. Later, Watson added 36 runs. These three players added score but rest players did not score two figure runs and finally their innings and also the overs finished with their score was 180.
