Micheal Clarke took a sudden decision of resting himself and not playing for the stars in the next campaign and thus new captain and vice-captain had to be selected for the stars.

Davis Hussey who is one of the leading run scorer in T20 throughout the world and Faulkner who showed his brilliance in the world cup and now is as good as a hero are given the responsibility to lead the Melbourne stars this time.

Faulkner and Hussey to lead Melbourne Star

It was a very interesting choice and this combination might bring a new captain candidate for Australia national team. However, both Hussey and Faulkner said that they are eager for this and they were a bit surprised.

Hussey said in briefing – “It’s an interesting decision by the Melbourne Stars. James Faulkner’s going to be the vice-captain and he’s going to be a great person to bounce ideas off.I’m really focused on helping the Melbourne Stars. I want to win some silverware”

English Captain Fleming said that he is very happy about Hussey becoming the captain and he respects that this man can do – “It’s nice to have a strong Victorian presence as captain.”

On the other hand, Melbourne Stars are struggling to get past the semi-final mark as they are stuck there for nearly 4 years now. Hussey wants to break that deadlock and he added – “It is frustrating. We’ve been semi-finalists every year since the inception of the competition.”

Who knows how this will affect the new season but with everything going on, we can expect some sort of change in next Big Bash League for the Stars.
