FATA defeated Karachi Whites by 19 runs

1st season of National T20 Cup has started in last 11th November, 2017 though it used to stage in August to September in every year. But due to some international schedule, the T20 league competition has been postponed and now, it has staged. All of the matches in the domestic league competition are grounding at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium though earlier two different venues were selected for it. Already 23rd matches of the competition has successfully finished where FATA defeated Karachi Whites by 19 runs.

FATA which is fully known as Federally Administered Tribal Areas is a franchise team in the competition and used to compete here as one of the eight participants. Earlier in the match which was staged in 22nd November, 2017, Karachi Whites came to field by winning the toss. In 20 overs their opponent FATA scored 219 runs which could not be chased by Karachi but finished their innings by scoring 200 runs so far.

However, with Mukhtar Ahmed and Awais Zia FATA started their innings. Their opening partnership added 28 runs just when Awais Zia got out with just 1 run. But at the end of the crease Mukhtar Ahmed played strong. He tried to make long partnership but at the end of the crease, on one could last long. In the meantime, Nabi Gul scored 22 runs and Khushdil Shah scored just 12 runs. Skipper of the team Hammad Azam scored none but Sohail Akhtar scored 39 runs so far. Opener Mukhtar Ahmed played till the 16.2 overs and scored highest 117 runs in 58 balls. He colored his innings by make fifteen 4’s and six 6’s. He actually made a brilliant century out there. Anwar Ali and Tabish Khan took two wickets each for Karachi Whites.

Came to chase 219 runs, Karachi Whites also tried to make good head start but in 9 runs, they lost their first wicket Asad Shafiq. But another opener Khurram Manzoor played brilliantly and made an amazing century. He scored 104 runs in 61 balls. Another player Haris Sohail scored 50 runs, They were about to win the match but after the fall of Khurram Manzoor, their hope was lost. Finally, in 20 overs, they scored 200 runs by losing five wickets. Sameen Gul and Hammad Azam took two wickets for the team FATA. Mukhtar Ahmed was declared as the player of the match from the winning team due to his brilliant century.
