England took revenge in 2nd ODI

England cricket team is yet to finish their tour but they are visiting New Zealand from Australia. There they will play a ODI and a Test series against Black Caps. Tournament has already started with ODI series and in the first ODI the local team New Zealand won the match against England. So, later England took revenge in 2nd ODI against Black Caps. They beat New Zealand by 6 wickets so far.

England took revenge in 2nd ODI

England cricket team is in tight schedule where as per the schedule, they played an ODI series against Australia and prior to that they played Ashes series against the same team. They lost Ashes series but won the ODI series. Later, New Zealand and Australia jointly arranged a T20 competition named Trans Tasman Tri Series which consisted of three teams. In the T20I tournament, Australia won the title by defeating Black Caps in final. Earlier, England ruled out from the group stage of the competition. And now, they have once again participated in a dual tournament against New Zealand.

The ODI series between New Zealand and England consists of five matches and after the two matches where both team won one match each. So, now three matches in hand and to secure the series, one must win at least two matches among them.

In 28th February, 2018 the 2nd ODI between English and Black Caps staged and this time Bay Oval was the host arena of the match. In local time 14:00 the match started which was a day/ night match. England won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mark Chapman made his ODI debut through the match for New Zealand. So, came to bat New Zealand scored 223 runs and lost all wickets. They played 49.2 overs where Mitchell Santner scored highest 63 runs in 52 balls. Moeen Ali took two wickets for England. Besides, for Black Caps Tim Southee made his ODI captaincy debut in the match. Besides, it was the 50th ODI match of Mitchell Santner from Black Caps.

However, later England came to open the innings where in 37.5 overs they reached the destination. They lost only four wickets and scored 225 runs so far. Ben Stokes scored unbeaten 63 runs in 74 balls for England. Trent Boult took two wickets but due to the match winning team Stokes got the player of the match award.

The 3rd match between them will take place in 3rd March, 2018 at Wellington.
