Ashes is a most prestigious Test competition in the World where just Australia and England used to take part in every season. It used to stage once in every two years and last season it was staged at England and this season it is staged at Australia. England is the defending champion of Ashes and it seems that they will not hold the title much longer.

The first Test was staged in 23rd November, 2017 where Australia won by 10 wickets. And in 2nd Test which was staged in 2nd December, 2017, there again Australia won by 120 runs. So, they have led the tournament by 2 – 0 and now, among rest three matches they just need another victory to secure the series.

However, earlier in 14th December, 2017 England won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 305 runs by losing four wickets. England has started their innings with Cook and Stoneman and headed for a long partnership but in 26 runs, their opening partnership was broken by Starc. Cook scored just 7 runs and got lbw. Later in 2nd wicket partnership between Stoneman and Vince, they added few runs but in 89 runs Vince was gone with individual 25 runs so far. Skipper Root was showing no better performance in that day but scored just 20 runs so far where Stoneman scored 56 runs so far. Finally Malan and Bairstow made another partnership and they took the team to a handsome total. Malan and Bairstow remained not out with 110 runs and 75 runs so far.

Team England has still couple of batsmen in hand and to win the series, they have no other way but to win the match. They should win rest three matches consecutively and failed to do so, they would lose or draw the series as well. On the other hand, at the home venue Aussie bowlers are completely destructive specially Starc who has taken already two wickets in the match.
