Dhaka Dynamites won by 4 wickets against Khulna

Dhaka Dynamites which is the most successful team in Bangladesh Premier League or BPL and also the current champion played their last match against Khulna Titans in ongoing season of BPL 2017/18. In the match, Dhaka Dynamites won by 4 wickets against Khulna. The match was hosted in Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka where Dhaka Dynamites won the toss and opted to bowl first. Khulna Titans scored 156 runs by losing five wickets in first innings and in return, Dhaka chased the score successfully. With just 1 ball remaining, they successfully reached the target.

Michael Klinger and Nazmul Hossain Shanto opened the innings for Khulna. Their start was quite successful. Butin just 22 runs, they have lost 1st opener Klinger with individual 10 runs. Wicket – keeper Dhiman Ghosh was no better but scored just 2 runs so far. Rilee Rossouw tried to add some runs and scored 34 runs. It seems that they were about to lose their number of wickets in just 46 runs. But Carlos Brathwaite made a tremendous innings. He played 29 balls and scored 64 runs. He made four boundaries and six over boundaries within this little time. At the end, Khulna finished their innings by losing five wickets. Skipper Mahmudullah could not do better. They scored 156 runs in selected 20 overs. For Dhaka, Abu Hider Rony took highest 2 wickets so far.

Came to chase that runs, Dhaka Dynamites lost their top four wickets in just 24 runs. Back then, they were about to lose the match it seemed. But, they were turned around. Skipper and icon player Shakib also failed to add significant runs. So, they lost five wickets in 41 runs. In 6th wicket partnership between Jahurul and Pollard, they added more than 70 runs. Pollard played a destructive innings. He scored highest 55 runs in just 24 balls. He colored his innings by making six over boundaries and three 4’s. Jahurul remained not out with Mosaddek. For Khulna, Shafiul Islam took highest two wickets.

Through the victory, Dhaka jumped to the top of the BPL point table. By playing forur matches, they won three of them and lost one.
