Derbyshire won by 57 runs against Warwickshire

Derbyshire is one of the eighteen participants in Royal London One-Day Cup and like before, they have participated in the ongoing season of the tournament. When it was known as ECB 40 and earlier before, they used to take part in the tournament. So, they are in the north group in the tournament and since the inaugural day, they have started the competition. In 17th May, 2018 Derbyshire won by 57 runs against Warwickshire in their first match. It was the 2nd match in the group north. Warwickshire Bears is also one of the respective franchise team in the tournament and they have a colorful history here. The match between them took place in 17th May and the host group was Edgbaston, Birmingham. In the tournament, Warwickshire Bears won the toss and decided to bowl first. So, Derbyshire came to open the innings firstly.

Derbyshire won by 57 runs against Warwickshire

The tournament Royal London One-Day Cup consists of 50 overs per side. Earlier it was not in the same format but later, the overs are increased to 50. Now, it has come to the line of One Day International.

There are two groups in the tournament which are north group and south group. Each group contains nine teams. From each group top point holder three teams will qualify for the knockout round after the group stage competition. So, every team will try to give their best and win the title.

Earlier in 17th May, 2018 Derbyshire came to bat at the beginning by losing the toss. Ben Slater and captain Billy Godleman made a destructive start for the team. Openers added 129 runs where Ben was gone with 69 runs. But, another opener Billy stood strong. He made a partnership with Wayne and both of them added another 100 runs when Wayne was gone with 58 runs. Opener Billy made a remarkable century who scored 137 runs in 116 balls. Openers and top orders did their job well enough and as a result the team Derbyshire scored 357 runs totally at the end of 50 overs. They lost eight wickets in the meantime. Jonathan Trott took four wickets highest for Warwickshire.

Openers of Warwickshire were failed but top orders and middle orders played well. One of their player Sam Hain scored a brilliant century out there. He scored 108 runs. Adam Hose scored 33 runs and Keith scored 48 runs. rest players added few runs each. But by losing all wickets they could not meet the target. In 45.3 overs they finished their innings scoring 300 runs.
