Derbyshire won by 4 wickets

Derbyshire and Durham both are two franchise teams in Royal London One Day Cup 2018 and both teams have joined the competition from the North group. Now, they have already played three matches in the season. Unfortunately Durham which is also known as Durham Jets yet to get any victory by playing three matches. They faced defeat all three times. On the other side, Derbyshire won by 4 wickets against Durham Jets in their 3rd match. Through the victory, team Derbyshire managed total two victories by playing three matches. They faced defeat in their 2nd match against Worcestershire.

Derbyshire won by 4 wickets

The match between Durham and Derbyshire took place in 23rd May, 2018 and this time it was hosted at County Ground, Derby. In the match, Durham got the toss favour. They won the toss and decided to bat first. From the earlier matches we seen that in the tournament toss winning team used to decided for bat first. So, Durham seems took the right decision.

Cameron Steel and Graham Clark started the innings for Durham Jets. Openers added 51 runs jointly where Steel scored 24 runs and gone first. Later, Clark scored 45 runs so far. Michael Richardson and captain Tom Latham also played well. Richardson scored 41 runs and Tom scored highest 66 runs for the team. Finally Ryan and Nathan added few more runs and so, in 50 overs team Durham finished their inning scoring 272 runs so far. They lost total eight wickets where for Derbyshire, Olivier, Matthew and Luis took two wickets each.

272 runs was not so poor and seemed to be enough to beat a team but the opponent played more well than Durham. Ben and Billy started the chase for Derbyshire. Ben scored only 24 runs but Billy scored 60 runs so far. In 1st wicket partnership between Billy and Luis, they added more than 120 runs and so, they led their team to victory. Luis scored highest 92 runs but unfortunately could not score century. Finally, rest work was done by Gary and Alex where Gary scored 40 runs and Alex scored unbeaten 42 runs so far. By losing six wickets team Derbyshire scored 273 runs in 49.4 overs.

Bowlers of the team Durham bowled well and only for a little they faced defeat in the match. Nathan Rimmington took three wickets highest for the team Durham in the match.
