De Villiers annihilated Black Caps in 3rd ODI at Wellington

Proteas ODI skipper AB de Villiers destroyed the Black Caps bowlers yesterday while playing the 3rd match of the ODI series at Wellington. Basically, by his destructive batting, team Proteas scored 271 runs and the rest work was done by four Proteas bowlers. Earlier the match, this Villiers said to his teammate that they needed to play with full responsibility. And later, he presented a responsible innings as a skipper  of the team which led the team to the second victory of the series. Now, team South AFrica is leading the series by 2 – 1. They started the series with victory but in second ODI match, Proteas stumbled and New Zealand won. But in 3rd ODI, they successfully back to the winning track. Now, they have still two matches in hand and need to win just one to secure the series. But, Proteas captain wants to win rest two matches as well.

The match was the day night where earlier yesterday team Proteas won the toss and came to bat. De Kock and Amla started the innings but stumbled in 41 runs when Amla got out with his 7 runs. Later, Plessis came to support de Kock. De Kock made a record to score consecutive five international fifty in the match where he scored 68 runs. Before him, Plessis got out and then Villiers came to take the wheel. He scored highest 85 runs for the team and along with this he scored more than 9000 ODI runs and became the first batsman to make 9000 runs so quick in ODI competition. He took 80 balls to make the score. While playing with Villiers, at the end of the crease, the players used to change regularly. Finally, they scored 271 runs by losing eight wickets.

New Zealand started to suffer from the second overs of the innings while chasing the score. When team runs were just 2, lost Latham and later second wicket was gone in 11 runs. In 3rd wicket partnership just added few runs but that was not enough to win. Only Grandhomme scored highest 34 runs and remained not out. But rest players just visited the crease it seemed. So, they got all out when team score was 112. Along with AB de Villiers, most of the credit goes to Proteas bowlers. Proteas captain Villiers used total five bowlers and all of them at least got one wicket each where Pretorius took highest three wickets.
