David Warner shows empty pockets in reaction to English fans’ sledging

Not that it wasn’t expected out of English fans, but Australian cricketers Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have faced the ire of spectators’ in the first Ashes Test, being held in Edgbaston.

The trio, who have come back to the side after serving bans due to their involvement in Sandpaper-gate, has been welcomed with chants of boos every time they have stepped out on the field.

In one such incident, star batsman Warner was fielding in the deep, when a group of audience apparently taunted him over the controversy. He, however, had a cheeky response on offer, showing off his empty pockets.

Meanwhile, England took a 90-run lead after Australia could manage 284 runs in the first innings. The visitors, in the second essay, were 124-3 at stumps on Day 3, with Smith (46) and Travis Head (21) at the crease.
