The south African Hard hitter confirmed in his twitter that he is not going to play in AKS Bangladesh Premier League 2016. Earlier, Rangpur Riders franchise though confirmed of his joining along with Anwar Ali from Pakistan for the Chittagong Phase of BPL 2016, Miller confirmed his not coming. Rangpur Riders wanted to push up their batting strength because in last couple of matches batters from the team could not shine that much and their style deemed faulty and decided to include those two batsman to their squad between them Ali is an alrounder. If everything remained normal Miller and Anwar both could have been seen in the dug-out in Chittagong for Rangpur Riders. Riders Chairman briefed that Both Miller and Anwar were to join Rangpur Riders for the Chittagong phase of BPL, and they are hopeful to get victory in the upcoming matches, but Miller twitted “Just so I don’t get asked again. I will not be playing in the @OfficialBPL this year.” whereas Ali is playing for the team.

The news of Anwar and Miller joining the squad of Rangpur Riders was going to be a cheering news for the Riders supporters as well as the players, but sadly enough Miller not joining this season is going to be a shock for the fans. Riders fans have to keep their fingers crossed for the next matches.

Rangpur Riders was facing difficulty in batting from the very begging of the tournament. Afridi shone in bowling but could not do much with his bat. With a young captain Nayem Islam and with a lot of team efforts Riders are at the top position on the point table with 10 points alongside Khulna Titans but net – run – rate lifts Rangpur to the top.

Apart from Anwar Ali who is playing for the Riders, Riders team management also claimed to have hired Shane Watson for four matches of Dhaka phase of the big event. Shane Watson is still to confirm about his joining.

Last season Riders ended up being third in the tournament, but this season the team started with great energy though some believed otherwise about the captaincy of Nayem Islam given preference over Shahid Afridi. After winning two back to back matches they lost the game with Dkaha Dynamites. The batting line up was not strong enough from the very begging of the series and the top order batters could not add much to the scores. So the team management decided to hire batsman for the upcoming matches.

However, Having lead the point table, Rangpur Riders could have had a plus point with Miller in the squad.
