Lords Test: England captain Alastair Cook made a new milestone. As an opener England captain surpass the considered one of the greatest openers Sunil Gavaskar in runs consideration.

Cook went beyond Gavaskar at the second day at Lord’s. Before bowled by Mohammad Amir Cook 81 scored runs. As an opener Cook made 9 thousand 630 runs. On the other hand Sunil Gavaskar made 9 thousand 607 runs.

Gavaskar scored that in 203 innings. Cook took 16 more innings to surpass Gavaskar. Both were not out for equal 12 times.  Garaskar scored this runs at an average of 50.29, on the other hand, Cook have an average of 46.52.

Sunil Gavaskar is still at the top of the most century list. This Indian star opener scored 33 hundred out of his 34 career hundred as an opener. Cook’s have 26 century in opening. As an opener Graeme Smith (27) and Australia’s Matthew Hayden (30) have more than century as an opener then Cook.
