Black Caps has recently finished a three matches ODI series against Australia where they completely destroyed Aussie by 2 – 0. The second match of the tournament was abandoned due to rain. So, two matches were staged instead of three. However, just before the series against Australia, they played a complete series against Bangladesh where the Tigers being whitewashed. So, it seems that New Zealand is in great form in this time and their ranking is also a bit higher than the previous time. They are now 3rd in position in ODI ranking. Now, Black Caps are preparing themselves for upcoming competition when South Africa will visit their territory to participate in a dual competition with them. Though, Black Caps defeated Australia and Bangladesh recently but that will not help them to defeat Proteas. Proteas is also in great form where they are country playing a series against Sri Lanka and defeated the Lions in Test and ODIs. Besides, they are in 2nd position in ICC ODI ranking.

However, New Zealand is still a few steps behind than Proteas in Test and ODI. So, they have to try their best to defeat them. The match will be staged in New Zealand which would give them more opportunity. Besides, South Africa team is still in weak to face spin attack. SO, Black Caps should take the facility.

However, the upcoming tournament between Proteas and Black Caps will start in next 17th February, 2017 with the only T20I match at Eden Park, Auckland. The whole tournament consists of three Tests, five ODIs and a T20. The both teams yet to finalise their team squad for the competition and it would be revealed soon.

If we consider the head to head statistics between South AFrica and New Zealand, Proteas are far better condition than Black Caps. New Zealand played total 65 ODI against Proteas and won only 22 of them but lost 38 matches. In Test, their condition is more poor. They could not win any Test series against South Africa while playing at home or abroad. Black Caps total played 15 Test series against Proteas since the beginning and lost 12 of them. Rest three series was drawn. South Africa won last five Test series consecutively against New Zealand. In last time, they played a two matches test series in 2016 where Proteas won by 1 – 0. So, upcoming series will be more important to New Zealand and so, they better prepare very well to defeat them this time.
