England’s come-from-behind win over hosts New Zealand have forced a lot many amendments in the latest release of Test rankings by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In the batsmen rankings, Joe Root rose three spots to career-best 5th position. Captain Alastair Cook also surged six spots to the 18th place, thanks to his stellar 162-run knock against the kiwis recently.

However, Team England’s biggest gain was Ben Stokes, who surged a whopping 27 places to 44th position in the Kumar Sangakkara-led list.

Meanwhile, South Africa speed-star Dale Steyn continued to reign supreme, even as New Zealand’s Trent Boult leaped a brace to 4th rank.

In the list of best all-rounders, Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh, South Africa’s Vernon Philander, and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin retained their top spots.
