Bangladesh won by 48 runs

Bangladesh cricket team is visiting West Indies and United States in recent time where they are schedule to play a tournament against West Indies. Couple of matches will take place in United States this time. The Tigers started the tour officially in 4th July, 2018 with the Test series. West Indies won the Test series against Bangladesh by 2 – 0 games. However, ahead of the ODI series team Bangladesh played a tour match against UWI Vice Chancellor’s XI and won the match by four wickets. Finally they have started the official ODI series against West Indies. The ODI series consists of three matches and to secure the series they have to win two matches out of three. In the first ODI, Bangladesh won by 48 runs against West Indies.

Bangladesh is considered as strong team in ODI than Test competition and they have the ability to win against any teams in the World in ODI. Besides, they are ahead of West Indies in ICC ODI ranking right now. So, the expected things have happened there.

In 22nd July, 2018 the first ODI match between Bangladesh and West Indies took place and the hosting ground was Providence Stadium, Guyana. Team Bangladesh got the toss favour and decided to bat first.

Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque started the innings for Bangladesh but in 1 run, Anamul Haque was gone. He failed to open run account. Later, with Shakib Al Hasan, another opener Tamim made a long partnership which added more than 200 runs. Tamim managed a century and remained not out with 130 runs so far. But the bad luck was for Shakib Al Hasan. He scored 97 runs but did not get the century. Later, Sabbir Rahman came up and scored 3 runs only. Mushfiqur Rahim added 30 more runs and so, the innings of Bangladesh ended with 279 runs in exchange for four wickets. Bishoo took two wickets highest for the team West Indies.

West Indies opened their innings better than Bangladesh. In 27 runs their opener Lewis was gone. He scored 17 runs where Gayle added 40 more runs. Most of their players got score but Hetmyer added 52 runs highest for the team. Bishoo and Joseph added 29 runs each for the team. They played full 50 overs but could not chase the score of Bangladesh. Scoring 231 runs the innings of West Indies was finished. Mashrafe Mortaza took highest four wickets for the Tigers.
