Bangladesh made draw in 1st tour match

Bangladesh cricket team which is also known as the Tigers is currently travelling West Indies and United States. The purpose of their tour is to play a complete tournament against the West Indies national team. The match will take place in West Indies and United States as well. However, the tournament was about to start in last March, 2018 but later it was postponed and now, from June to August, 2018 the tournament will run. Before playing the main event against West Indies national team, Bangladesh had chance to play two preparation matches. First match was staged against West Indies President’s XI and Bangladesh made draw in 1st tour match.

Bangladesh made draw in 1st tour match

It was the two days preparation match which started in 28th June, 2018 and ended in 29th June, 2018. The match took place at Stanford Cricket Ground, Antigua where the Tigers won the toss and decided to bat first.

Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das started the tour match against West Indies President’s XI. In 4 runs, opener Liton Das was gone. Later, Mominul Haque followed the same way in 12 runs. Just 10 runs later, Nazmul Hossain Shanto was gone as well. Shakib Al Hasan is the Test captain of Bangladesh and he made a partnership with Tamim Iqbal. They jointly added almost 100 runs where Shakib scored 67 runs. He faced 79 balls and made the score. It seems that he almost played in ODI style. Later, Mahmudullah came up and made a long partnership with Tamim. Both players led the team to a good total. Both took retired out. In the meantime, Shakib scored 125 runs and Mahmudullah scored 102 runs so far. Among rest players Miraz scored 28 runs and Imrul Kayes scored 40 runs so far. By playing 84.2 overs team Bangladesh lost all wickets and scored 403 runs so far. Joseph took four wickets for West Indies President’s XI.

West Indies President’s XI came to bat later. Campbell and Chanderpaul started the innings for them. In 0 runs opener Campbell was gone. In 3 runs Moseley was gone as well. Later, Chanderpaul and captain Brooks made a partnership where Chanderpaul scotred 24 runs but Brooks scored 72 runs so far. But one of their player Hetmyer made a century and led their team ahead. Due to his strong batting style, the Tigers failed to take all wickets of them. In 85 overs team West Indies President’s XI scored 310 runs and lost eight wickets so far. So, the match ended with draw.
