Bangladesh lost 2nd ODI by 104 runs at Paarl

Bangladesh played their 2nd ODI against South Africa yesterday after facing defeat in first ODI. They were desperate to win the 2nd match but unfortunately Bangladesh lost 2nd ODI by 104 runs at Paarl against South Africa again. So, the Tigers faced another series defeat in this tour. Earlier they already faced a Test series defeat against the local team Proteas but tried to win the ODI series where they are one of the best rising team in ODI format. So, they were also confident as well. The ODI series consists of three matches and to confirm the series, the Tigers must win two matches. But after facing a defeat in the first match, they had no other way but to win the rest two ODI matches. But yesterday at Paarl, they lost 2nd match and as well as lost the series.

Team Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field. The decision was right and since the beginning, the Tigers bowlers started to give pressure on the opponent batsmen and to collect runs was hard for them. But, their opening partnership provided good service again. Openers Amla and De Kock made 90 runs partnership and in team’s 90 runs, Proteas lost consecutive two wickets De Kock and captain Du Plessis. Both two wickets were taken by Shakib Al Hasan. De Kock scored 46 and Du Plessis failed to open runs account. Later, Amla and De Villiers led the team to a great score. They made almost 130 runs partnership. Amla scored 85 runs for the team. And Ab De Villiers scored highest 176 runs for the team. At the end of the game, they lost six wickets and able to present a huge runs in front of the Tigers. They scored 353 runs in selected fifty overs. For Bangladesh, Rubel Hossain took highest four wickets and Shakib took two wickets so far.

Bangladesh made a good start as well with Tamim who has returned from the injury just now but could not settle in the field. He scored 23 runs and Kayes who is the another opener scored 68 runs for the team. Most of the batsmen of the Tigers could not last so long but Mushfiq and Mahmudullah tried for a while. Mushfiq scored 60 runs and Mahmudullah scored 35 runs for the team.

Bangladesh even could not play all fifty overs but scored 249 runs in 47.5 overs by losing all wickets. Phehlukwayo took four, Imran Tahir took three wickets for the Proteas.
