Earlier today at Christchurch, Black Caps won the toss and decided to bat and by this decision, the Tigers skipper was happy because he wanted to bowl first. But in this case New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was right and his batsmen were proving it continuously. However, Mustafiz who was the key pacer of Bangladeshi team stroke first and took their one opening batsman Guptill when the team run was just 31. But later, Black Caps started to make partnership and so, this was difficult for the Tigers bowlers to make breakthrough. Latham made a brilliant century of 137 runs and number sixth batsman of them Munro  played also a brilliant innings of his individual 87 runs by playing 83 balls. So, based on this two top scorers, New Zealand made their highest 241 runs totally which was basically impossible for the Tigers to chase.

Failed to make a good bowling session, the Tigers started to bat to make atleast a challenging score. They also tried but lost their opening batsman Kayes at 34 runs. Kayes was good in last warm up match but in main event, he failed. Soumya and Mahmudullah were also got out  by scoring just 1 and 0 run each. Later, Shakib made a 40 runs partnership with Tamim but when team run was 81, Tamim gave a catch and out. Just Shakib and Mosaddek scored fifty and fifty plus runs in this match. They were getting all out by playing 44.5 overs and made 264 runs. So, in the opening match, the Tigers lost by 77 runs so far.
