Team Bangladesh is currently travelling India where they are scheduled to play a three matches T20I series against Afghanistan. The matches will take place at Dehradun. However, earlier it was about to be the ODI series but Bangladesh Cricket Board or BCB chanced the fixtures to T20I and they want to take it as the preparation of 2020 ICC World T20 competition. Before making the official tournament, Bangladesh played a warm up match against Afghanistan A team. Bangladesh faced defeat in warm up match against the A team.

Bangladesh faced defeat in warm up match

It seems that Afghanistan A team got the victory very easily. At Dehradun, in 1st June, 2018 the warm up match was executed which was also in T20 format. In the match, Bangladesh batted first and scored 145 runs in exchange for six wickets in 20 overs. But team Afghanistan A, they had to play 17.2 overs and losing only two wickets they got the victory easily.

The Tigers are very rising team in ODI competition. But in T20I, they are very lower even they are couple of step behind than Afghanistan team as well.

According to ICC T20I ranking, Afghan team is in 8th position where the Tigers are in 10th position so far. In their last preparation match, team Afghan proved that why they are ahead of Bangladesh in T20 ranking.

Till the last match, Bangladesh played just one T20I match against Afghan team which was in World Cup. In the match, the Tigers beat Afghan. But in the last warm up match against Afghan A team at Dehradun after the match, it seems that the team of Shakib took them lightly and the day of lightly taking is over. With 16 balls remaining by losing only 2 wickets in Friday night Afghan team left the ground with victory where Bangladesh faced a shame indeed.

It was a shame no doubt. For Bangladesh the highest scorer was Mosaddek Hossain who scored 38 runs in 22 balls. Mushfiq scored the 2nd highest runs. He added 27 runs by facing 32 balls. That was not T20 style batting. Afghanistan did not ground Rashid Khan or Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the match but still team Bangladesh suffered from their bowlings. Soumya scored only two runs. He stayed on the ground just 11 minutes and faced five balls but a normal delivery of Mohammad Nabi, he was out. Liton got out by caught behind. Mahmudullah and Sabbir Rahman increased the hopes. But the hope lasted for a little. In exchange for six wickets 145 runs was not sufficient in T20 competition after all.
