Sri Lanka cricket team is currently touring in Bangladesh where they already took part in a tri nation series with Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. And also won the series. Now, they are scheduled to play a Test and a T20I series against Bangladesh. They already played the 1st Test which was started in 31st January, 2018. The 1st match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh drawn 1st Test against Sri Lanka.

In last December, 2017 Bangladesh Cricket Board which is simply known as BCB changed the Test captain of the team and Shakib Al Hasan was given the captaincy of long format cricket where earlier, it was Mushfiqur Rahim who led the Test team of the Tigers. But due to injury, Shakib did not participated in 1st Test and Mahmudullah played the role as captain.

Sri Lanka is an experienced Test cricket playing nation that Bangladesh and so, they are far ahead than the Tigers considering ICC ranking. Bangladesh is in 9th position where the Lions is in 6th position on ICC Test ranking. But team Bangladesh is very dangerous at their home ground which was proved many times earlier.

The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka was started in 31st January, 2018 which was placed at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. For Bangladesh, Sunzamul Islam made his Test debut through the match. Earlier in 31st January, 2018 Bangladesh won the toss and let the Lions to bowl first. So, came to bat the Tigers played very well with responsibilities. They presented a good score in front of the Lions at their first innings. Bangladesh scored 513 runs and they played complete first day and half of the second day. Team Bangladesh played total 129.5 overs and lost all wickets. Their top scorer was Mominul Haque who made a brilliant century. He scored 176 runs by facing 214 balls. He played the actual Test match there. Suranga Lakmal took highest three wickets for the Lions.

Later, team Sri Lanka came to bat for the first innings and by losing nine wickets they managed to lead 200 runs. They scored 713 runs which was so big score at the first innings. Their top scorer was Kusal Mendis who scored 196 runs but unfortunately before making his double century, he was got out. Taijul Islam took four wickets highest for the Tigers.

Later, Bangladesh came to bat for the 2nd innings and finished the 5th day successfully. They scored 307 runs by losing five wickets where Mominul Haque once again scored a century. So, the match finished with draw.
